Abaco is always a force to be reckoned with when it comes to just about every sport, and darts is no different.
In mid-June, Abaco’s Snipers darts team players travelled to Savannah Sound, Eleuthera to compete in the Champs Cup against teams from other islands, which included New Providence, Grand Bahama and Eleuthera.
Abaco won the Round-Robin styled tournament with 19 points, while New Providence and Grand Bahama tied for second with 18 points. The team from Eleuthera occupied last place, accumulating a close 17 points.
As a tiebreaker, the teams from New Providence and Grand Bahama had to play a one-game, team game, allowing the winner to advance. It was the team from Grand Bahama that advanced to the finals to play against Abaco in the championship round to see who would win the first-to-six, best out of three games.
Abaco won the first game: 6 to 3 as well as the second game – 6 to 2 – allowing them to secure the championship win.
Abaco Snipers team players were Robin Albury, Mark Albury, Shane Sawyer, Keith McDonald, Lloyd Deveaux, Roscoe Thompson III, JR Albury and Pedro Poitier. The team is sponsored by Da Zone Sporting Lounge.
