    Ten teams compete in Elder Sherwood Simms Basketball Tournament

    In the month of April, the Elder Sherwood Simms Basketball Tournament at Zion Baptist Cathedral began to wind down, but not before players in the church league met with key stakeholders in the Abaco community. Ten teams were represented in the tournament.

    Agape expected to rank among nation’s top four basketball teams

    Coach Wayde Adderley and the senior boys basketball team from Agape Christian School attended the 38th Annual Catholic High Christmas Invitational Tournament in Grand Bahama on Dec. 12-15. Agape lost by two points against Eight Mile Rock High School in the championship game.

    Eagles continue their success in the Eleuthera at Walter Bethel Invitational Basketball Tournament

    The Agape Christian School Eagles came back from the Eleuthera Walter Bethel Invitational Basketball Tournament with a first and third place. Four of their players made the “All Tournament Team” and Coach Wayde Adderley was recognized as “Coach of the Tournament”.

    Bahamian team does well in Caribbean Cup Tournament Abaconians earn high points

    The National Darts Team came back from Belize with not only significant victories, especially for Abaconians Robin Albury and Angela Russell, but also with many memories of a great trip. The Bahamas placed second in the Caribbean Cup, with 81 points behind Florida (102 points). The National Team was also runner-up in the Team Event, with 48 points, losing again to Florida by only one point.

    Abaco Boy Joins National Team

    Young Dillon Albury enjoyed a great experience playing for the Freedom Farm National Baseball Team competing well in a tournament in North Carolina. The Freedom Farm team placed fourth in the Cal Ripken Baseball Southeastern Championships playing against 19 other teams from the United States from July 25 – 29.
