Bahamian Brewery and Beverage Co. Ltd. helped Abaconians enjoy the 42nd Bahamian Independence celebrations in a ‘Truly Bahamian’ way with their Sands ‘Man in The Boat’ sculling races. The event took place over the holiday weekend in Treasure Cay, right after the Regatta Time in Abaco finals.
On July 27, Bahamian Brewery & Beverage Co. (BBB) held its 2nd Annual Sands Man in the Boat Sculling Championship on Treasure Cay Public Beach.
The Sands Man in Boat Championship took place in Treasure Cay, The Abaco this past weekend, and Clayton Bain was once again crowned the Truly Bahamian Sculling Champion. The 2nd annual sculling championship was very successful, with scullers coming from Long Island, Andros, Abaco and Grand Bahama.
Bahamian Brewery and Sands Beer began their Sands Man in the Boat Sculling Championship with a Sculling Boat Motorcade that led to the Treasure Cay Public Beach on the weekend of July 19 to 20. With the Junior Sailing set for 9 a.m. that Saturday, followed by the E-Class sailing and the sculling championship that afternoon, clear skies and a brisk breeze greeted its participants. As organizers waited for races to begin, small children took advantage of the beach – diving and frolicking in the translucent, cool waters. Food vendors served delicious dinners of chicken, pork chops, ribs and fish with side orders of crab n’ rice, peas n’ rice, macaroni and cole slaw. Freshly made conch salad was made on location as well as conch fritters. Mixed drinks and soft drinks were affordably sold at the bar.
