    A meeting for persons of the entire South Abaco community (which includes Cherokee Sound, Casuarina Point, Bahama Palm Shores, Schooner Bay, Crossing Rocks and Sandy Point) was held on February 26 in the Crossing Rocks Primary School.     Schooner Bay Hosts Summer Program for South Abaco Youth

    Children from Crossing Rocks and nearby communities participated in a four week Summer Program hosted at The Schooner Bay Institute of Art and Science. Classes were comprised of two groups, ages five through nine, and ages ten through fourteen. The objective of the program was to provide educational and enjoyable experiences through hands on activities.

    The annual Harbourside Marine Bahamas Rotary Tuna Classic took place this year on June 5 & 6 with the usual five weighing stations located at the Green Parrot on New Providence, at Spanish Wells on Eleuthera, Clarence Town on Long Island, Freeport on Grand Bahama and Schooner Bay on Abaco.

Christie has announced full government support, HEA approvals and start of vertical construction phase for a 100% Bahamian owned & operated boutique hotel located at Schooner Bay Village, South Abaco – slated to open in December of 2014, one that will employ more than 20 persons and generate more than $3 million alone in economic activity for South Abaco.
