The place to be on Christmas Eve was Cherokee. A larger than usual crowd from all over Abaco, and many from off the island, gathered for the annual lighting of the Community Tree.
If you were looking for someone special on Christmas Eve they were probably in Cherokee. This year the little settlement of approximately 160 persons hosted a crowd of over 200 at their annual Community Christmas Tree lighting.
The 10th Annual Abaco Christmas Festival was well-received by the Abaco community and off-island visitors on Dec. 7 at BAIC Park. Pastor Stephen Knowles, president of the Abaco Christian Council, was invited to open the event in prayer.
