    Rotaract Club Initiates Project HELP; Shocked by Appalling Conditions

    On Saturday, August 23 the Rotaract Club of Abaco went into two homes to begin Project HELP (Housekeeping for Elderly Persons.) Rotaractors, through Project HELP, clean the homes of the elderly or infirm on Abaco. Though the group knew to expect living areas that needed thorough cleaning, they were appalled by what they actually found.

    Interact and Rotaract Clubs hold pinning ceremonies for 2013

    In October the Interact Clubs of St. Francis de Sales and Forest Heights as well as the Rotaract Club held their pinning ceremonies. The Interact Club is the youth branch of Rotary Club aimed at high school students. Rotaract is another branch of Rotary for community minded youth between 18 and 30.

    Rotaract members hold meet and greet at Mangoes

    A group of young adults belonging to the Abaco Rotaract Club, a service organization affiliated with the Rotary Club of Abaco, organized a social event at Mangoes Restaurant and Marina. The group hopes to recruit more socially-minded citizens from the community.

    Rotary Club of Abaco Christmas Bell Ringing

    In spite of a weak economy or perhaps because of it, the annual Rotary Club of Abaco’s Bell Ringing was again a success. People, who could afford it, were generous enough to give. Through the efforts of the many Rotarians, Interactors and Rotaractors who rang the bell at the Christmas Festival, in front of Maxwell’s Supermarket, Abaco Groceries, Standard Hardware and Abaco Hardware, The Rotary Club of Abaco collected over $5,000.00.
