As a much-anticipated event each year, the 13th Annual Abaco Christmas Festival attracted hundreds of people to BAIC Park on Dec. 3.
The first North Abaco Championship was organized by North Abaco's Administrator, Whelma Colebrook, who assembled school athletes from all the communities of North Abaco for a series of championship games. The Opening Ceremony was held at the Treasure Cay Primary School on Friday, September 16. Games were held later that night and continued on September 17 and 18.

Southworth Development, and international developer of residential resort communities, purchased the property along with an association of Winding Bay homeowners. Prime Minister Perry Christie, along with a number of delegates, toured Baker’s Bay Golf and Ocean Club during a visit on November 20 and told the media that the resort is expected to contribute $450 million to the Public Treasury over the next 10 years According to Mr. Christie, the contributions will come by way of import duty, transfer, stamp, and property taxes as the project plans a considerable expansion over the next decade.
