The Abaco Swim Club travelled to the Royal Bank of Canada / Bahamas Swimming Federation’s National Swimming Championships with their largest team yet who competed and earned a total of 33 medals and finished in fifth place out of twelve swim clubs.
Armed with great expectations and a view of bringing home the gold, Abaco Imaging-Creter’s Bulldogs and Abaco Groceries Diamond Dollz attended this year’s Bahamas Softball Federation’s (BSF) National Round Robin Championships from Oct. 30 to Nov. 2 on Banker’s Field at the Baillou Hills Sporting Complex.
Young Abaco sailors Malia Sweeting, Brandon Sands, Chloe Sweeting, Joey Gale and Rachel Sands competed in the 2014 Opti Nationals in Salt Pond, Long Island. The Nationals were held on October 4 and 5.
Abaco Swim Club travelled to Nassau with 32 excited swimmers to participate in the 2014 RBC National Swimming Championships which took place between June 19 & 22. The team consisted of swimmers ranging in age from 6-14 years old.
Sisters Albury and Lilly Higgs, along with their cousin Miller Albury, had an excellent showing at the 41st RBC National Swimming Championships held in Nassau on June 19 through 22, earning high point trophies, winning numerous medals and breaking several records.
Following their historic win at the Bahamas Softball Federation's (BSF) National Round-Robin Tournament last month, the Creter’s Bulldogs organized a grand celebration on Nov. 16 at the Murphy Town Ball Field inviting fans on Abaco to celebrate with them. Leading up to the event, T-shirts were sold ensuring that all supporters were well represented in their Bulldogs’ attire. Free food, drinks and entertainment were provided, and a recap of the championship game was shown on the big screen for everyone to enjoy.
