    National Geographic Researchers, Bahamian Scientists and Local Students Explore Abaco Blue Holes

    From December 3 – 19, some of the world’s top explorers and scientists in their fields were on-island to map out and research Abaco’s mysterious and beautiful blue holes. A large part of their visit has also been spent conducting educational outreach to students of Abaco.

    National Geographic promotes Geotourism Project to Out Islands only

    Following a visit to the Abaco Cham­ber of Commerce in March regarding the Small and Medium Size Enterprises De­velopment Bill (SMEDA), Tonya Cargill- Adderley, principal of Contact Excellence Consulting, returned to Abaco on Nov.1. Cargill-Adderley was accompanied by Maria Lucia Prinz, a National Geo­graphic representative, for a presentation at the Office of the Prime Minister in the Government Complex. This time the focus was on The Bahamas Geotourism Out Is­lands Program for National Geographic’s Interactive MapGuide.
