As he extended to his constituents and all Abaco best wishes for a prosperous New Year, Minister of Parliament for North Abaco and Parliamentary Secretary Renardo Curry said that things are looking up for 2014 and beyond for Abaco.
North Abaco Member of Parliament, Renardo Curry held a back-to-school event in Dundas Town as well as several other locations on August 24 providing school materials to about two hundred children and donating a drum set to a youth marching band. Mr. Curry said the event, which ran from 10 am to 5 pm, was very successful and provided hours of entertainment and activities – including a bouncing castle – as well as hot dogs and hamburgers which were provided free.
A consortium of representatives met with North Abaco Member of Parliament, Renardo Curry on August 22 seeking his support on proposed parks at Cross Harbour and The Marls. The group consisting of d'Shan Maycock, Environmental Education & Outreach Consultant to the Bahamas National Trust (BNT), David Knowles, Director of Parks for the BNT, Olivia Patterson, Program Coordinator at Friends of the Environment and Buddy and Cindy Pinder representing Abaco Flyfishing Guides Association (AFFGA) presented support for the proposed parks.
