    FNM Chairman passes away on Abaco

    Charles Maynard, Chairman of the Free National movement and former Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture, passed away in Abaco early August 14, 2012. Mr. Maynard was in North Abaco helping prepare for the by-election when he collapsed from a heart attack. He was unresponsive when he arrived at the Treasure Cay Clinic and was pronounced dead at 1:30 a.m.

    Minister prepares to address Abaco’s manufacturers

    Minister of Financial Services, Ryan Pinder, held a brief meeting on August 24 in hopes to better understand the particular needs of Abaco and be prepared to adequately address manufacturers on the island when he returns in two weeks. Mr. Pinder worked with the Abaco Chamber of Commerce to get a small group of manufacturers together for a preliminary visit “to hear the issues that pertain to manufacturing on Abaco, so we can better plan a comprehensive trip.”

    Charles Maynard, Chairman of the Free National movement and former Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture, passed away in Abaco early August 14, 2012. Mr. Maynard was in North Abaco preparing for the by-election when, according to reports, he collapsed from a heart attack. He was unresponsive when he arrived at the Treasure Cay Clinic and was pronounced dead at 1:30 a.m. Mr. Maynard was 42 years old.

    Minister Alfred Gray addresses fishers and farmers

    During his meeting with fishermen and farmers on July 26 at the Anglican Parish Hall, the Honourable Alfred Gray, Minister of Agriculture, Marine Resources and Local Government, told Abaconians that he has a very special expectation for them as he shared the government’s plans for Abaco. He said he hopes that together solutions can be found.
