    Public Forestry Meeting Alerts Public to Proposed New Boundaries and Hunting Fees

    The Forestry Department, in carrying out the mandate of the government to create protected areas for a sustainable forest preserve throughout The Bahamas, held a series of town meetings to discuss the proposed protected sites on Abaco and introduce the draft regulations for hunting licenses.

    Abaco, along with other islands in The Bahamas, is experiencing a shortage on vehicle license plates at the Road Traffic Department which is preventing persons with new vehicles from being able to license them.

    Since February of this year the printer at the Road Traffic Department in Marsh Harbour has been out of order and persons wanting driver’s licenses have had to settle for handwritten copies.
