    Excuses and Frustrations

Thanks to you for trying to advise your people that they are bringing so much harm to their selves and their families, and their lifestyle by the "finger pointing, but not my fault" attitude that seems to be corrupting, nay, ruining your country.

Trash is a Hazard, Marsh Harbour Run Down

I would like to bring to your attention the unattractive- appearance of down-town Marsh Harbour with respect to the garbage which is thrown on the street and around the Union Jack Dock, and the unauthorized parking on the sides of the road leading to Maxwells Supermarket. Further, the road side verges, flowers, shrubs and signage which we constantly have to replace, is being destroyed by the volume of foot traffic that moves back and forth on a daily basis to and from the ferries to Guana Cay and Bakers Bay.

    Crime Ring Must Be Smashed

Two years ago we came to Abaco and found our dream home on the Casuarina beach. Beautiful water, friendly neighbors, a mix of Bahamians, North Americans, and Europeans. We have tried to become part of this community, doing what we can, especially helping the local VFD. As we’ve suffered through a bitter winter in New Jersey, our thoughts daily turned to Abaco and Casuarina. Because we’ve fallen in love with this beautiful place and our 2nd home here.

    Food and Water

I consider myself a TRUE TRUE Bahamian and am always very pleased when I learn of a person or company producing food for the Bahamian Population, i.e. Bahamas Agriculture and Marine Science Institute (BAMSI).

    A Shanty Town Gated Community?

Here are pictures of a “Gated Community,” Haitian Style, that has gone up at the entrance to the Treasure Cay Farm Road. Trash has been pushed into a wall of its own, over 5 feet high just before the wooden wall is reached. Please no photo credit.

    Health Hazard in Murphy Town

The Government installed a dumpster on Forrest Drive Way, the east / west road at the north end of Murphy Town to service the Great Cistern communities in place of weekly garbage truck pick-ups.
