The flag football championship game was held at the Murphy Town Park on February 7. The Green Turtle Cay and Marsh Harbour teams gathered on the field to face each other. A large crowd of supporters had assembled to watch the three games making up the finals. The games were televised live by Cable’s NB12.
The Forest Heights Academy Falcons participated in the Junior Junkanoo Parade in Nassau on December 13, 2014 and marched out with first place. Two Falcon members even won the King and Queen of the National Parade: Casiah Pinder and Rocky Thompson.
Forest Heights Academy (FHA) participated in Nassau’s Junior Junkanoo Parade on December 13. The FHA Falcons surprised the nation, but not themselves or those who follow their program, by taking the competitions top spot. FHA is also the high school champion for Abaco’s Junior Junkanoo for three years running.
In a series of competitive matches across the three age divisions on November 29 the Green Turtle Cay Falcons came away from their visit to the Marsh Harbour Wildhawgs with more wins than losses, giving them a successful day.
After sweeping the Man O War Makos during the first flag football meet of the season in New Plymouth, the Green Turtle Cay Falcons played against the Makos on their turf on October 18. The Falcons walked away with a similar result, winning five out of six games losing only the second senior game.
As the lights faded on the inaugural flag football season for the Abaco Youth Football Association (AYFA) the Green Turtle Cay Falcons proudly raised the floating trophy in victory for both the Junior and Senior Divisions as they overcame the Marsh Harbour Wildhawgs in both games on Saturday, March 22.
