    Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Plans for 2017, shortly before 1:00pm, police in Abaco acting on information went to an area in Fox Town, Abaco, where they discovered a field of marijuana plants totaling (692) plants.

    The needs of Abaco twenty years ago are not our needs today. If Abaco is to continue matching Grand Bahama as the nation’s “Second City” then we need a police force to match. One that is sophisticated and equipped. One that is able to actually respond to crimes in real time. One that can at least afford to keep fuel in their vehicles. Neither of which are a possibility today.

    Seven men were charged on March 7 in connection with a $1.1 million cocaine seizure after they were arrested on March 2 in waters off South Abaco.

    Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Plan for 2017, Drug Enforcement Unit Officers from New Providence along with U.S Counterparts and Officers of the Abaco Division, arrested three adult males following the seizure of a large amount of dangerous drugs, cash and firearm on Friday 24th February 2017.

    A local Abaco man was charged last week in a Florida court with conspiracy to import five kilograms or more of a substance containing a detectable amount of cocaine hydrochloride.
