Is poetry the baring of a soul overwhelmed by grief and melancholy in front of life’s issues? Or is it a tribute to the beauty of nature or the feats of heroes? Is it just a way to communicate with and reach to others, in the hope they also share the same feelings while confronted by the many aspects of life?
The 10,000 Things exhibit by local artist, Leanne Russell, was the culmination of months of work, collaboration, struggle and introspection. Hosted at Bliss Coffee House, the titular “10,000 Things” references the way lives intersect, impact each other and, ultimately, leave fragments to remember us by – “things.” Specifically for Leanne, the art expressed at the show reflected meaningful moments she shared with her late grandmother who battled with cancer.
New owners Leanne Russell and Claire Basden of Bliss Coffee House (formerly the Java Coffee House) in Marsh Harbour had their Grand Opening on Saturday, April 25th.
