The third annual fundraiser Bikeathon for the High Banks Fire House took place on February 12, 2017 under beautiful clear, sunny skies with temperatures just perfect for a nice bike ride. This perfect day was very welcome as riders from last year had memories of a harrowing ride against head winds which made the ride very hard going.
The High Banks Volunteer Fire Service (HBVFS) is hosting its 3rd Annual Bike-A-Thon Fundraiser on Feb. 12. The course extends for 30 miles from the HBVFS Fire House in Bahama Palm Shores to the Regatta beach site in Sandy Point.
On February 15, twenty seven community-minded individuals completed a Bikeathon to raise much needed funds for the High Banks (Bahama Palm Shores) Fire House. The ride began at the High Banks Fire House at 9 a.m. and riders began arriving at the finish line at Sandy Point just a little over two hours later. Within the next 45 minutes all of the riders had finished.
