Abaco beauty Sharonique Russell, 20, is competing as Miss World Abaco 2017.
In addition to becoming a 2013 Abaco Pathfinders Scholarship recipient, Nyisha acquired an acceptance letter and scholarship from Barry University, where she is expected to continue her studies after completing her Bachelor’s Degree at the University of The Bahamas.
Abaco native, Blair Johnson, was a finalist in Kennesaw State University’s Ms. KSU 2015 Pageant which was put on by the University’s International Student Association in Georgia.
Five contestants were revealed during the Little Glitz and Teen Miss Abaco Unveiling on Dec. 13. Hosted by Miss Abaco Beauty Pageant Director TJay Stubbs, the event included an Ultimate Shopping Experience at Island Girl Boutique II.
Miss Abaco 2013 Patricia Curry was slated to participate in 2 international competitions as this year’s Miss Tourism Queen of the Year International and Miss Tourism International.
TJay Stubbs, director of the Miss Abaco Beauty Pageant, is looking to up the ante for this year’s pageant. The Miss Tourism Queen International Pageant will give him and the pageant committee the chance to do just that as they prepare the reigning 2012 Miss Abaco Patricia Curry for the largest tourism-based competition in the world.
