    Bulldogs, Diamond Dollz Dominant in June Games

    On June 16, the Divine Construction Sharks took on the Nagico Insurance Sluggers at the Murphy Town Ball Field. Sharks player Troy Bullard went 3-for-4 with six runs batted in (RBIs). The winning pitcher was Jason Scott who delivered eight strikeouts, four runs, and six hits.

    Softball enthusiasts have enjoyed many softball games over the past few months, and now in just a few days, the Abaco Softball Association (ASA) will host its 2015 playoff season.

    Softball Action Spreads from Murphy Town to Cooper’s Town

    Following the opening of softball season on May 8-9, another slew of games were played the following weekend. Starting off with the first game of the night on May 15 were newcomers – Lady Legends – versus Diamond Dollz, Abaco’s women softball champions.

    ASA Softball Season Opens

    The Abaco Softball Association (ASA) launched its 2015 season on May 8-9 at the Murphy Town Ball Field. There are eight teams in total with five men’s teams and three women’s teams.

    Softball Update on Bahamas National Team, Upcoming Season

    The Bahamas National Team participated in New Providence on March 26-29 in the first men’s English Caribbean Amateur Softball Confederation (ECASC) Tournament. The tournament included national teams from Aruba, British Virgin Islands and the Cayman Islands.

    The Abaco Softball Association (ASA) held its biennial softball elections at the Dundas Town Burial Society on Feb. 22. New officers will serve two years (2015-2017) in their elected positions.

    ASA Softball Championship Games to Begin this Weekend

    The Abaco Softball Association (ASA) Playoff Games began on the weekend of Sept. 12 at the Murphy Town Ball Field to the excitement of fans. The first showdown was between the Hope Town Wreckers and Simple Solution Sharks in the best-of-seven series.

    Weekend Games Lead to Playoff

    It was a record attendance at the Murphy Town Ball Field on Aug. 29-30 with Grand Bahama teams – the Port Side Flyers women’s team and Control Chemical Sweepers men’s team – visiting Abaco to play against local teams. Both nights featured triple headers with men’s and women’s teams on deck.

    Softball Games Lead Up to Playoffs, ASA Donates School Supplies

    In the land of double headers, base hits and home runs, the Abaco softball season is winding down toward its playoff season, which begins on Sept. 12. Games continued weekly throughout the month of August, and the most recent games held on Aug.22-23 yielded a combination of wins and losses.

    The Abaco Softball Association served up a double header on July 18-19 at the Murphy Town Ball Field for excited fans.
