Adderley Basketball Camp successful, to be repeated in August

Southern Comfort Takes First Place in the 31st Annual Treasure Cay Billfish Tournament

Southern Comfort clinched First Place for the second consecutive year at the 31st Annual Treasure Cay Billfish Tournament (TCBT), June 25-28 at Treasure Cay Beach, Marina & Golf Resort. Owned by Peter Angel, Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Southern Comfort caught the lead when they released their second blue marlin on the last day of the tournament. Big T's Too took Second Place with a blue marlin release the first day the tournament, earning owner Bob Wolsey, Sarasota, FL the Top Angler trophy based on time.

Wave Paver rolls over competition in last five minutes to win 2014 Bahamas Billfish Championship Series

With just five minutes remaining in the 2014 Bahamas Billfish Championship, Wave Paver hooked a blue marlin. A minute before that, Jr. Davis and his team were in second place for the overall championship title. This blue marlin release would earn Wave Paver 600 points and a second place finish for the Marsh Harbour Championship and 500 bonus points to go along with that. Those points combined pushed Wave Paver above then leader Marlin Darlin for the Championship win.

The Abaco Softball Association (ASA) held an All Abaco Tournament on June 20-21 at the Murphy Town Ball Field inviting teams out of New Providence and Spanish Wells to be a part of the softball action. Fans packed almost every bleacher at the park to support their respective teams.

ECC students excel at Special Olympics

A team of 22 students from the Every Child Counts School participated in the Special Olympics held on the old Robinson Road Track in Nassau on May 31. They returned victorious the following day sporting their medals. A large number of medals and ribbons were won, many of them gold and silver and most of the athletes placed in more than one event, some in as many as four events.
