Studio One, which is the original building’s name, was once also an art studio home to one of the earliest members of the Sailing Club. The Christmas Village Brings Elbow Cay Together for Community Center

Hope Town Association Fundraising Committee for charity of Elbow Cay ended 2015 with a bang. The St. James Community Center has gone from a theory to proof that all things are possible. Now onto its second phase, the St. James Community Center is backed by some of the hardest working individuals in Hope Town. The building is still under construction, however, the exterior is completed and now the works of the interior have begun. It all started with a funding-meter shaped like a coconut tree located by the Post Office lamp pole in Hope Town to start off the awareness of the funding for the Community Center. Then along came the idea of The Christmas Village by Monica Cook, Rudy Verspoor and the Hope Town Association Fundraising Committee.

Hope Town Heritage Day Features Sculling, New Museum Exhibits

Generations and Generations of the legendary Wyannie Malone attended the Hope Town Heritage Day Festival on Saturday, March 7 along with visitors of near and far. The first known “Heritage Day” took place in 1978 but was called “Abaco Week” instead of “Heritage Day.” The festival took place at Jarrett Park where there was the food stand, baked goods, cold beverages, Museum T-Shirts and the game tables of Hoopla and Pick the Lollipop for the kids.

Songwriters Festival Embraces “Chill” Event

The 3rd Annual Patrick Davis Songwriters Festival was held in Hope Town during February 17 - 22 and was organized by Firefly Sunset Resort. The Songwriters that performed this year were Mark Bryan, Kylie Sackley, Johnny Bulsord, James Otto, Cory Crowder, J.T. Hodges, Randy Montana, Janell Wheeler, Tyler Reeve, Django Walker, Bryson Jennings, Jesse Rice, and Patrick Davis.
