Jingle Jog and Island Market Make for Festive Day in Man-O-War

By Meredith Albury

On the morning of December 8th, runners were off to races at Man-O-War Cay’s 6th annual Jingle Jog presented by MOWY Fitness. This was the first year that the Jingle Jog had been accompanied by the Island Market, a local artisan fair hosted by the Man-O-War Heritage Center. The vendors at the market were selling everything from wooden boat models to hand sewn products to homemade jams and preserves.

The Island Market paired with the Heritage Center coffee shop made for a relaxing time while friends & family waited for the joggers to return from the Man-O-War Cay point.

This year, the winners of the 5K Jingle Jog were Noah Albury in first place, Amelia Putnam in second, and Janice Roberts in third.

For the children’s 1K race, Joshua Bethel placed in first, Grace Bethel placed in second, and Eli Albury placed in third. Gift cards from Snappas and the Hope Town Inn & Marina were distributed as prizes, and the proceeds from the race have gone towards building a new playground in Man-O-War Cay.

Sponsors of the Jingle Jog include Damianos, Sotheby’s, Pete’s Pub & Gallery, Man-O-War Grocery, Sally’s Seaside Boutique, Snappas, Cruise Abaco, Gabrielle Manni Photography, Man-O-War Hardware, Albury’s Ferry Service, G & L Transportation, Hope Town Inn & Marina, Abaco Buzz, and DND Marine Services.
