CAPS Receives Donations of Backpacks and Supplies on Opening Day

The opening day for students of Central Abaco Primary School (CAPS) held a wonderful surprise.

Skylar and Holden Elder, representatives of Friends of Abaco, visited the school on Sept. 3 to donate 1,000 back-to-school backpacks for students. The Elders thanked the members of Baker’s Bay Golf & Ocean Club and Vineyard Vines for their generous donations that helped to supply students with backpacks in K-4 through sixth grade. The supplies consisted of: exercise books, sketch pads, pencils, rulers, erasers and pens.

CAPS students also received school supplies and backpacks from Blue Fin Construction Company.

Principal Beatrice Moxey added that along with the donations received, Commonwealth Bank also donated nine cases of exercise books, one case of pens, one case of pencils and 30 rulers.

Principal Moxey was grateful for the outpouring of donations, and expressed a “big thank you” to all who donated to the school on behalf of the administration, teachers and students.
