Marijuana Field Discovered Just South of Airport

Police in Abaco discovered a large marijuana field in the Marsh Harbor area on June 12.

On Tuesday June 12, 2018 shortly after 12:00pm, officers of the Abaco District including Supt. Stubbs, Insp. Rolle, Insp. Burrows, Cpl. Dean and Cpl. Burrows acted on information and went to a bushy area south of the Leonard Thompson International Airport.

They discovered approximately 1000 marijuana trees ranging from two to eight feet in height. Further investigation of the area revealed a makeshift hut which appeared to be used as a harvesting area. There were no arrests made in this matter as of yet.

The estimate street value of the marijuana seizure is $600,000. Police are actively investigating.
