The Central Abaco Stingrays hosted their Stingrays Opening Home Game on March 24 at the Murphy Town Ball Field. For the second time this season, they faced the players of the North Abaco Baseball Association (NABA).
Three games were played in total.
In the first game, the North Abaco players scored 16 runs, while the Stingrays managed to score four runs. Holding the hot bat for NABA was John Hepburn, centerfielder, who went 4-for-4 with 31b and one home run. The winning pitcher was Anthony Williams, who pitched 11 strikeouts to the Stingrays. Trevor Roberts was the pitcher for the Stingrays.
In the tee ball coach pitch division, the Stingrays secured a win with 14 runs to beat NABA’s four runs. Traven Sands of NABA went 3-for-3 with 32b.
In the final game, the NABA junior players beat the Stingrays’ juniors: 9-2. Holding the hot bat for NABA was Carlos McKenzie who went 3-for-4 with 22b and 13b. Trivon Hield was the winning pitcher with eight strikeouts. Hauns Russell pitched for the Stingrays in the juniors game.
Upcoming games for the North Abaco Baseball Association and the Central Abaco Stingrays will be held on April 6 at the Murphy Town Ball Field, and then on April 7 at Baker’s Field in Cooper’s Town.
