Rotary Feeds Over 150 in Annual Fund Raising Drive

The Rotary Club of Abaco, through their annual bell ringing fundraiser drive, raised enough funds this year to supply grocery certificates to over 150 people in Abaco from Crown Haven to Moore’s Island.

Though typically the Club purchases the food themselves and delivers boxes the logistics of doing so are difficult and this year they experimented with distributing gift certificates to local grocery stores.

You may have seen Rotarians in front of popular grocery stores and hardware stores throughout November and December “ringing the bell” to solicit passerby’s pocket change as they have for many years. These funds, along with generous donations from Th3rd Space Church and Member of Parliament James Albury, allowed for one of the largest outreaches for the Club in several years.

The Rotary Club of Abaco partners with Social Services to locate those most in need.
