DNA Ratifies North Abaco Candidate

The Democratic National Alliance (DNA) ratified their candidate for the constituency of North Abaco on October 31, announcing Claire Basden as their representative for the seat.

Ms. Basden spoke about the need for change and her desire to cultivate “community mindsets” in the country.

“I would like to cultivate a community mindset where the churches, schools, local government, civil servants, community organizers all come together to make my vision become a reality. First I would like to see my people more educated and more empowered to own,” she said.

She spoke about her desire to assist in ensuring that training is available, while also promoting cultural education and seeing that sports facilities are properly maintained.

Finally, she quoted former US President John F Kennedy who said; “Change is the Law of Life and those who look only to the past or present are certain to miss the future. So may I remind you today of The Power of Now.

Timothy had his first venture into Journalism just months after graduating from Queen’s College in Nassau taking his first job with The Tribune in 1991 leaving in 1992 for other pursuits.

During his time in Nassau he diversified his experiences working as a warehouse manager, locksmith and computer technician before returning to Abaco, a place he has always considered home, in 1999.
