Change Ministries Int’l Celebrates Fourteen Years of Ministry

Change Ministries International was built upon humble beginnings in 2002 when Pastor Samuel Cornish and First Lady Carmen Cornish established the church along with six dedicated members.

On November 6, the members under the direction of the church’s Pastoral Care Team celebrated Change Ministries International’s 14th Pastoral Anniversary. There were a number of exciting items on the church’s anniversary agenda with praise and worship songs, a liturgical dance, laughter-filled performances, video presentations and tributes by families and men whose lives have been greatly impacted by Pastor Samuel and First Lady Carmen Cornish.

In each of the tributes that were heard, it was emphasized over and over again of the Cornishes commitment to the members of the church, to their work in the community, and their unwavering, steadfast faith in God.

During the Pastoral Anniversary service, members from the Nassau campus were in attendance: Paul Willy, Waughn Jones and Oral Jones. Jones spoke on behalf of the Nassau congregation giving accolades to Pastor Samuel and Lady Carmen for their leadership and commitment to the work of the Lord, and for their impact on the members’ lives.

Meanwhile, Bishop Clifford Henfield, who has been a longtime spiritual mentor and father figure to Pastor Samuel presented a plaque to the Cornishes for their 14 years of service to Change Ministries International.

A brief visit of the church’s history indicates that the first church building was located in a store front building in Dove Plaza. However, in the space of two to three months, Pastor Samuel and Lady Carmen began to see steady growth in terms of the church’s membership.

Throughout the years, Change has experienced its share of high and low points. Regrettably, the passing of Pastor Samuel’s father was a hard blow to him and the entire Cornish family as well as the community of Abaco.

But God was working all things out for their good in the midst of it all.

Soon Pastor Samuel was able to see the vision that God had given him to establish the church come to pass when they were able to relocate to the present edifice in Murphy Town in 2007. By 2011, they opened the doors to Change Preparatory School (CPS).

Other accomplishments included the launching of “In His Image” Television Program in 2009; Pastor Samuel became the author of the book “Understanding Divine Connections” in 2010; Change Ministries’ 24/7 Gospel Radio station (93.9 FM)  opened in 2014; and their second Change Ministries Int’l Campus was established in Nassau in 2015.

As part of its ministry, Change also hosts several programs that include: 360 Youths Program; GEMS for young girls and Boys2Men for young boys to attend; an Evangelism Ministry, Marriages That Win Program for couples; and a lunch program in the schools.

Going forward, there are plans to establish other churches and to complete the school building for Change Preparatory School.
