Abaco Swim Club Celebrates Success in the Pool

DSC_0095The Abaco Swim Club celebrates its continued success and accomplishments after CISC (Caribbean Island Swimming Championships) and National Championships.

The Abaco Swim Club took home a combined total of 86 placements at the RBC National Swimming Championships, including two gold medals, 9 silver, and 24 bronze. This placed the Abaco Swim Club 5th overall in the country.

At CISC, three Abaco Swim Club members represented Abaco and the Bahamas as part of the Bahamas’ national team; Roman Pinder, Brayden Dam, and Jewel Pinder. Two other Abaco Swimmers, who represent SWIFT Swimming and Alpha Aquatics also contributed to The Bahamas’ success: Joshua Wong and Miller Albury.

The Bahamas won 78 medals overall, claiming the top spot for most medals earned of all competing countries.

DSC_0091Of these 78, Roman Pinder took home two silver and one bronze medals, Jewel Pinder took home two bronze, Brayden Dam took home one bronze, Miller Albury earned one gold and one silver and Joshua Wong also swam the 100 Breast Stroke at the championship. He made finals in the event and placed 7th overall in the final.

This year Abaco Swim Club coach, Monica Higgs, had the honour of officiating at the CISC.
