Abaconians, along with a group of Bahamians, represented the Bahamas at the 2016 VNEA World Pool Championships held in Las Vegas, Nevada on May 26 through June 4.

Travelling to the Championships were Lex Russell, Tyler Russell, Cordero Russell and Barret Clarke from Abaco to take part in 8 Ball, 9 Ball Singles and Team & Scotch Doubles Pool series.

Tyler Russell made the top 12 in Men’s 9 Ball and on the international team made the top 8.

Timothy had his first venture into Journalism just months after graduating from Queen’s College in Nassau taking his first job with The Tribune in 1991 leaving in 1992 for other pursuits.

During his time in Nassau he diversified his experiences working as a warehouse manager, locksmith and computer technician before returning to Abaco, a place he has always considered home, in 1999.
