The Abaco Flag Football League (AFFL) concluded regular season games on Sunday, May 29 and are now ready to proceed to the playoff tournament and Championship Cup matches for Men’s and Women’s Flag Football.
Competition this year improved from the first year and the proof lies in the regular season final standings which sees three teams tied at a record of eight wins and four losses. Sitting on top of the Men’s division are the Pirates who, though losing their final game, ended with a record of nine wins and three losses.
Jumbled together in the three-way tie are the Dragons, Tigers and Sharks. Closing out the rankings are the Hollywood Superstarz at four wins and eight losses and the Chargers at three wins and nine losses.
The Women’s division with fewer teams determined a week ago with the Firebirds finish just shy of a perfect season as they dropped their final game against the Panthers.
The playoffs are set to begin at 4pm on Saturday, June 4 with the Chargers taking on the Tigers and the Superstarz set to take on the Sharks to determine the semi-finals vs the Pirates and the Dragons who both have a preliminary round bye.
The Semi-Finals will be played starting at 3pm on Sunday, June 5 with the Pirates taking on the lowest seed from the preliminaries and the Dragons facing the highest seed. The semi-finals for the Women’s division between the Panthers and Divas for the right to face the Firebirds in the Championship game will take place in between the men’s games on Sunday.
