On Friday and Saturday, March 18 and 19, the Rotary Clubs of The Bahamas Blood Mobile was in Abaco. Parked in Maxwell’s parking lot, a professional crew of phlebotomists collected blood from 10am to 3pm each day. They reported being very happy with the turnout from Abaconians.
The blood drive buoyed the scarce blood supply in Nassau. Many came to give in honour and support of Mr. Scott Lowe who was in need of blood at Doctors Hospital in New Providence.
Bringing the Blood Mobile to Marsh Harbour was organized by the Rotary Club of Abaco. Club members also volunteered to assist the professional medical staff.
One pint of blood is enough to save three lives.
