The Bahamas Institute of Business & Technology (Formerly known as the Success Center for Extended Studies) that has been offering Associate Degree Courses on Abaco for the last several years, donated two laptops to Mr. Ricardo Ferguson, Principal of Abaco Central High School, as an expression of gratitude for the use of the campus.

A gratitude that was also felt by Mr. Ferguson as the laptops will be invaluable instruments for the library that he is hopeful will be opening soon.

“I am grateful for the technology provided by the institution in the form of laptops. I am also appreciative of further assistance to the school library coming on stream.” said Mr. Ferguson to Enid White who handed out the computers.

Enid White is the representative of  BIBT on Abaco. She told the Principal that “on behalf of Dr. Deswell Forbes, President of BIBT, Faculty and staff, she would like to extend gratitude to Mr. Ferguson, Principal and the Abaco Central High School Campus, for playing such an integral role in the institution’s mission to ensure that Abaconians can access tertiary level education without having to relocate.”

Thirty five students are presently enrolled in the course that runs from twenty to twenty four months. There have been three graduations so far with graduates receiving an Associate Degree Diploma accredited by the Ministry of Education.

Classes cost $810 per semester, but a 25% discount has been offered to students as well as a larger partial scholarship discount for uniformed Police and Immigration Officers.

Ms. White can be reached at the Office of the Prime Minister.
