Barefoot Man to Lead World’s Shortest St. Paddy’s Parade

The Strawberry Monkey’s Annual World’s Shortest St. Patrick’s Day Parade welcomes all “Irish For the Day” boaters and Abaconians. Barefoot Man will be this year’s Grand Marshall.

Barefoot Man, who will headline his Spring concert at Nippers on March 18 and 19, will lead the five minute parade from Memorial Gardens along Bay Street’s Restaurant Row to Snappa’s.

The parade will start at 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 17. Those who wish to participate are asked to meet at memorial park no later than 4:45 p.m. to receive their free green beads. The wearing of green is a must. This is a family event so include children, pets, wagons, golf carts, and noise makers.

Participants will receive free Irish beads and then parade no more than 300 steps to Snappas for an evening of merrymaking.

Snappa’s, Jimmy’s Wine and Spirits (Bahamas Brewery Beverage & Co), Wally’s, and the Harbour View Marina have given their support to welcome the green wave of paraders.

Complimentary products and refreshments will be available along the parade route.
