The Dynamic Dolphin Anchors (DDA) of S.C. Bootle High School spearheaded a food drive within the school last year. As part of their requirements, students from every homeroom were encouraged to tap into their creativity to design a box to display their donated food items that would assist the elderly within nearby communities.
On December 16, 2015, S.C. Bootle Principal Julian Rolle along with Anchor Club advisors, the DDA president and other members presented boxes of food items to a representative from the Social Services Department in Cooper’s Town.
Adhering to their motto of – “Do More, Care More, and Be More,” the Anchors then visited the communities of Blackwood, Cooper’s Town and Little Abaco to distribute bags of groceries.
Students expressed fulfillment in giving back to their communities and the elderly recipients were pleased and appreciative. Anchor Club members have been engaged in the food drive for the past three years, and the students from grades 10-12 who make up this international service club learn about various brain disorders.
They also assist with the beautification and upkeep of the school.
