The center has a “State of the Art” fully licensed and accredited endoscopy facility. It is staffed by anesthesia and qualified nursing providers. This facility allows for procedures to be performed conveniently and affordably.

The Center for Gastrointestinal Disorders helps diagnose and treat all elements of the liver, pancreas and alimentary tract. This includes all endoscopic procedures and ancillary testing deemed to be necessary.

The center is affiliated with, and on the campus of, Memorial Regional Hospital located in Hollywood, Florida. It is just a short 15 minute ride from the Fort Lauderdale airport as well as Port Everglades.

Dr. Alvin Cohen, trained at the University of Miami, Jackson Medical Center. He also obtained a degree in Pharmacology.

Dr. Mark Lamet, a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist and Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology,  trained at the famed Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland Ohio. He is an exceptionally skilled endoscopist and is widely published in the gastrointestinal literature in particular for the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease.

He is currently an Associate Professor of Gastroenterology at the Nova University School of Medicine and lectures there regularly.

Josephine Previlon a capable and competent physician assistant, completed her training at Touro College and joined the practice 10 years ago. She quickly has achieved the experience and expertise to manage gastrointestinal problems.

She is also fluent in a number of languages including English, French, Creole and Spanish making her an invaluable member of our team.

The Center for Gastrointestinal disorders welcomes patients from The Bahamas for medical care. The center will go out of its way to accommodate Bahamians in their office. Timely appointments for consultation as well as procedures (including upper endoscopy and colonoscopy) can easily be arranged and are extremely affordable since it can be done in their own facility.
