The Abaco Chamber of Commerce held its Annual General Meeting on December 1, 2015 at Bliss Coffee shop. The primary item on the agenda was the election of the board of directors. Eleven had been nominated and were elected by default as that is the required number. The new board will meet on December 19 to choose their officers from within the eleven.
Daphne Miaoulis, the current vice President, chaired the meeting and read the Presidents report submitted by out-going President Dennis Lightbourn who was not able to attend.
The Chamber’s six current directors were all re-elected, Daphne Miaoulis, Brenda Dejour, Kathy Ralph, Keith Bishop, Dave Ralph and George Rivere. In addition five new directors were elected to join the board, Ruth Saunders, Clare Basden, Carlene Farquharson, Vardo Boodle and Ken Hutton.
Several methods were mentioned on ways to get our disparate settlements involved in Chamber work and become active supporters. The new board will attempt to be more communicative with the business community and get its input on ways to move Abaco forward.

The meeting concluded with attendees being treated to refreshments by Bliss Coffee Shop.
