As of Sept. 26, 5 Star Ag & Turf Bulldogs and Lady Legends have advanced to the Abaco Softball Association (ASA) championships with both teams enjoying a 4-0 winning streak.

Simple Solution Sharks and Latima Boys Construction Destroyers continue to go head to head in their playoff games with three wins for the Sharks, and two wins for the Destroyers with possibly two more games to go in the best of seven-game series.

So while the Bulldogs are at a standstill waiting to see which team they will contend with, Lady Legends and Abaco women’s champions – Diamond Dollz – will begin their championship games this weekend on Oct. 2 -3 followed by the Sharks and Destroyers’ game which will close out the double header.

Lady Legends Team Captain Canishka Alexander thanked everyone who supported the team along the way particularly Michael Knowles of J.S. Johnson Insurance Co. Ltd. and Michael Lightbourn at South Island Solar for assistance with their corporate sponsorship fee and purchase of equipment, respectively, during their first season.

Winners of the Abaco championships will go on to represent the island of Abaco at the Bahamas Softball Association’s Round Robin Tournament in New Providence from Oct. 29 to Nov. 1.
