UFO Captures Residents’ Attention

Atlas V

Early risers in Abaco were treated to an unusual sight in the morning sky on Wednesday, September 2. Many reported seeing a strange light moving across the heavens which was unlike familiar jet planes or rocket launches.

However, the mysterious unidentified flying object was indeed simply a rocket.

The United Launch Alliance (ULA) Atlas V rocket was launched from Cape Canaveral in Florida at 6:18 am. The morning’s unique atmospheric conditions and angle of the rocket transformed the launch into a fantastic moving aura very different from the typical sight.

The rocket’s payload was the U.S. Navy’s MUOS-4 spacecraft. MUOS is an Ultra High Frequency (UHF) SATCOM system.
