The top nine female and the top nineteen male darts players of The Bahamas met in Freeport, Grand Bahama on April 8 and 9 to compete individually for a position on the National Team. The top four men and the top four women made the team.
Three Abaconians made the cut. Robin Albury, Dwight Miller and Angela Russell will have the opportunity to play for the country when they travel to Turkey for the Darts World Cup in October.
The National team is comprised of Robin Albury who placed first in Freeport, Rashad Sweeting from New Providence, Dwight Miller who took the third place and Anderson Lewis from Grand Bahama.
For the female members of the team: Angela Russell who placed first, Kim Russell in second position, Conjette Green in third, (both from New Providence) and Roxy Rolle from Eleuthera.
Faith Sawyer, the Abaco Darts Association’s President, was made the Manager of the Women’s National Team. The Men’s Team Manager will be Christian Knowles from Nassau.
The eight players will be accompanied to Turkey by the coaches and the managers among other people, such as Kevin Hicks who will act as President of the Bahamas Darts Federation and, possibly, the President of the American Region Darts Federation – Malcom Spicer.
The Darts World Cup is to be held October 26 to 31 2015.
