32° Below Ice-Cream Parlor and Sporting Lounge

32° Below Ice-Cream Parlor and Sporting Lounge is owned by Nehemiah and Venetta Saunders, and is one of Abaco’s newest businesses that focuses on feeding (and entertaining) the entire family.

The business opened on April 18, and is conveniently located in The Happening Plaza next to Long Bay School in Dundas Town. The menu offers assorted beverages, ice-cream, iced coffee, frappuccinos, milk shakes, banana splits, popcorn, and finger foods like wings and conch fritters and hot dogs. Pastries and snacks are also available to satisfy those with sweet tooths.

For the sporting lounge area, the Saunders plan to add video game units, additional television screens and more comfortable seating.

32° Below Ice-Cream Parlor and Sporting Lounge business hours are Monday to Saturday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on Sundays from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.

 

Natural Choice Salon

Located on South Side Highway in the Abacar Automotive Building in Murphy Town, Natural Choice Salon is your one-stop shop for all your natural haircare needs.

Dorcas Curry is the owner and loctician of the salon.

Natural Choice Salon opened its doors on April 13, adding to the natural care industry’s offering of natural hairstyling. Services include free hair consultation and analysis; oil, protection and moisturizing treatment for all textures; hair colouring; and natural hairstyles: locks, twists, comb coils and much more.

With 15 years of experience, Dorcas offers hair tips is committed to educating her clients while giving them their desired looks with picture-perfect hair styles.

Simply Kids Apparel

Recently, opened on Feb. 25, Simply Kids Apparel is owned by Lateca Seymour. The store carries an assortment of children’s clothing from 24 months up to size 7/8 in boys and girls clothing as well as accessories and handbags for Abaco’s fashionable ladies.

Sectioned off from the apparel side of the business is the snack store that is stocked with snack and juice products that range from 60 cents to $1.80.

Affordable snack packages are also available. For example, a $25 package includes one pack of juice, 10 chips, 10 fruit snacks, 5 cookies and 5 cans of spaghetti.

Simply Kids Apparel’s business hours are: Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Simply Kids Apparel is located upstairs in the Dove Plaza, Suite #206.

 

Platinum Salon and Spa

Platinum Salon and Spa has everything you need to look your most glamorous. Co-owned by Priscilla Douglas-Adderley, Neketia “Nikki” Simmons and Sheron “Sheryl” Swain, clients have a full range of options to choose from for their hair and nails.

Hair services include: relaxers, sew-ins, 28-piece weave hairstyle, styling and braiding services, and nail services feature full-set stilletos nail design, acrylic nails, Tammy Taylor nails, gel polish, manicures and pedicures. Cindy “Nail Queen” Johnson is also available as a nail technician.

Be sure to stop in at the store on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, so you can benefit from the exclusive specials offered.
