S.C. Bootle Engages Community in Annual Walk

SC Bootle Walk 2015

The early morning chill did not deter students, staff, parents and the health conscious of S. C. Bootle High School for the five-plus miles walk from the settlement of Black Wood to the school in Cooper’s Town.

Principal Huel Moss said that the annual event has grown over the years with some participating since its inception back in 2007.  Three permanent water and fruit stations were set up along the route for the first time, which turned out to be very successful allowing all the participants to access hydration fluids.

Taking part this year was School Police Officer, Shanya Dean, and she was accompanied by her police husband as well as her baby (although assisted in a baby push).

“It truly was a fun walk of five miles,” Moss expressed.
