Reggae Lovers Enjoy Illest Show in Elbow

By Erica Pinder

On the evening of Friday, February 6 all the true reggae lovers in Hope Town, locals and visitors alike, attended the Bob Marley Tribute at Firefly Sunset Resort.

The night was strictly dedicated to the legendary musician, Robert Nesta Marley, as it would have been his 70th birthday. The popular Willis & the Illest performed that night and definitely brought the Marley mood rightfully into effect.  Anticipating the Bahamian reggae band performing, the crowd started to serenade the bar with a few of Bob Marley’s classics radiating a positive vibe before Willis &the Illest performed.

Once they began, the band had everyone “jammin’” in their boots and sweaters during their performance with the amazing Willis Knowles’ vocals inspired by Bob Marley.

All proceeds from the concert Friday were donated to the Hope Town Elementary School.

Willis & the Illest continued their Bob Marley Tribute in Nassau the following Saturday at the John Watlings Distillery Ltd.
