The second round of RC Laser sailing on Abaco moved to Treasure Cay Saturday Jan 31.  Racers were met with a 10-15 mph breeze out of the northeast, slightly offshore, and temps in the mid 70’s.  There was a good spectator crowd and a few new sailors.

They raced nine 1 lap races.  The winds were slightly off shore, which made for a tricky last upwind leg.  The races were generally close, and the race was won or lost on the last upwind leg.

Dave Mulock had a good showing, leading after the first windward mark a few times. Jim and Anders had some good close racing, but Jim won the day winning every race.  They were glad to have Paul Hammond and Paul Syme join them.

The only breakdown was a mainsheet clip coming undone.

Thanks were given to Lenore and Ylva for running the races,  and to Anders for setting the marks and picking up the buoys.

A turtle was also seen trolling Brigantine Bay.  And thanks to Anders and Ylva for providing a nice Apple Cake and cool beverages.
