Jingle Jog

The Second Annual Jingle Jog was run in Man-O-War on December 13. The 5K Walk / Run and 1 Mile Kids Fun Run was hosted by the Abaco Swim Club. Though only in its second year, it is already becoming a favourite tradition of the island.

Carter Albury was the youngest male 5k participant at 9 years old and Kaylee Albury was the youngest female 5k participant. Brent Cartwright finished 1st for the males in the 5k with a time of 24:09 and Amelia Sands finished first for the females with a time of 29:21.

First place for the males in the 1-mile fun run was Noah Albury with a time of 8:00 minutes and Victoria Albury finished first for the females in the 1-mile with a time of 10:16.

There was a costume contest with winners Aaron Albury: Best Dressed Male, Kristen Pearce: Best Dressed Female, and Katie Sands, Taylor Albury, and Lily Albury: Best Dressed group.

Of special note was the father / son team of Michael and Brian Albury where Brian completed the race barefoot. A feat he says he will repeat next year and attempt in other local 5Ks.

Organizers had a special thank you for Snappa’s, Hopetown Inn & Marina, Dock & Dine, Sally’s Seaside Boutique, and Ben Hicks Fine Art for the prizes this year.

Every year the event is improving. If you missed the Jingle Jog this year, don’t worry you can always join in next year, December 12, 2015.
