Double Trouble

Letters to the Editor

Dear Editor;

Over the past several weeks two things have been made quite clear to me which a lot of people need to be made aware about.

1. Due to the fact that I live quite a ways out of Marsh Harbour and that I have a job I have to make at least two trips a day, one of which during the night. The fact is that ninety percent of the individuals that I pass on the road during the night do not dim their headlights. Several people who I have discussed this with have also told me the same thing and everyone says that it has become so bad that they “don’t bother to anymore” as a sort of way to get back at those who don’t.

Not dimming your headlights is bad enough as is, but the majority of the people nowadays have come into possession of ultra bright headlights as well as headlights in ranges of colours, making it much more difficult to see properly.

2. Other than the stop light there are several other four-way’s, one of which being the four-way that leads to Maxwells, Abaco Pharmacy, Bristols and the back of Standard Hardware. It is somewhat hard to see around the corners which allows great potential to being in a car accident. It doesn’t help the fact that the vast majority DO NOT STOP and just fly right through with no consideration!

Please figure out that YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY DRIVERS ON THE ROAD!!!!!

-Sincerely a Concerned Driver

I am an expatriate homeowner in Treasure Cay that reads your newspaper during the times spent here. I enjoy your incisive and spirited editorials on all things political and socio-economic in The Bahamas, and particularly Abaco. John Cash is a friend of some 25 years and suggested I contact you.
