On November 10 the Rotary District 7020 Governor (DG), Dr. Paul brown, visited Abaco. He was accompanied by his wife Kay Brown as well as the Assistant District Governor, Karen Pinder. The DG had several items on his agenda which concluded with the Rotary Club’s “World’s greatest Meal” held that evening at the Abaco Beach Resort.
Rotary District 7020 includes The Bahamas, Jamaica, Anguilla, B.V.I., Turks & Caicos, Haiti, and others.
An important stop for the DG was visiting Abaco’s two Interact School Clubs and the newly formed Rotaract Club. There are Interact Clubs at St Francis de Sales and Forest Heights. Both clubs, as well as the Rotaract Club, are very active in the community.
Before attending the “World’s Greatest Meal,” (an event to raise funds to combat Polio) the DG held a Board Meeting with the Rotary Club of Abaco.
The DG mentioned he was very impressed with the local club – especially the work with the youth.
