The staff and administration of Central Abaco Primary School (CAPS) partnered with K-Kids, the Kiwanis Club’s Youth arm, to raise funds for the Abaco Cancer Society.
Led by CAPS Teacher Neulessa Major and K-Kids President Kaitlyn Francis, the students presented a cheque of $610 to Jo-Ann Bradley, president of the Abaco Cancer Society, on Oct. 10 at the school.
Major, who heads K-Kids, explained that the funds were raised through a dress-up day and the selling of pink ribbons.
Bradley, who is a cancer survivor, expressed her gratitude to the students for their noteworthy efforts, and shared good news with them on a personal note.
“Last week, I went to the doctor for my last check-up after five years, and they said, ‘You are cancer free’!” she jubilantly expressed.
