Big plans are on the way for one South Abaco community, according to Colon Curry and Masanetie Joseph – Spring City’s newest local government representatives.
During the week of June 23 when Local Government elections took place, the two men saw to it that a gleaming white and blue sign was erected at the entrance of Spring City.
Curry and Joseph foresee that this is only the beginning of good things to come, and with the unification of the community’s residents a lot can be accomplished.
Firstly, the men thanked the people who supported them in ensuring their representation of the Spring City Township.
“As you can see we hit the ground running with putting the sign up for Spring City, and that’s a feat in itself because there was no sign up here for a while,” Curry said. “That’s one of the things we wanted to do, and we have accomplished that today.”
Their plans also include organizing a Community Development Association, and developing children’s activities and after-school programs.
Joseph added that they will make improvements to the community park and build a new Spring City community center.
“I spoke to a lot of people in the community, and they are willing to assist us in getting the work done, so once everyone works together, we should do well,” he assured.
