Friends of the Environment and the Bahamas National Trust proposed that the wetland habitat at Snake Cay Creek, Bight of Old Robinson and Cherokee Sound be put aside for the use of future generations. The proposal states that fishing and conching would still be allowed, but that existing marine resources regulations will be enforced to protect juveniles.

The students and teachers of Forest Heights Academy stood in support of the proposed East Abaco Creeks National Parks. They spelled out the letters for the East Abaco Creeks (EAC) on the school field.
